mean for you?

In shopping for carpet cleaning, you may have noticed the word "certified" being used in advertising.  You may have seen the logo above being used to feature certification.  But what does this mean to you as a client?  Is training and certification important?  After all, isn't carpet cleaning a "menial" task that anyone can perform?

Actually, a carpet cleaning professional is working with your third most valuable asset.  Should it be trusted to just any old carpet cleaner?  The answer: A big resounding NO!

The IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) is an independent body that provides the finest, most complete technical training courses and seminars available to carpet cleaners and restoration (flood, mold and
fire damage) in the industry. Your cleaner should be IICRC certified in any type of cleaning or restoration service they are providing you. IICRC Certification and Training is expensive and many companies cut corners when it comes to training their employees in the best and most effective cleaning methods. Each technician must earn their certifications through study, experience and successful completion of formal, written examinations. In addition to your technician begin certified, the carpet cleaning company should also be a certified firm by the IICRC. Before agreeing to have your carpet or upholstery cleaned ask to see written proof of the company’s and the technician’s IICRC certification. Any cleaner who has gone through the exhaustive and intensive training provided by the IICRC will be proud to show you proof of their certification.

What is the Carpet and Rug Institutes Seal of Approval Service Provider Program?

The Carpet and Rug Institute Seal of Approval Program Service Provider (CRI), Based in Dalton, Georgia, is a non-profit trade association representing carpet manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and installers. of over 95% of the carpet produced in the United States.   The following website will take you directly to Idaho’s CRI:

http://www.carpet-rug.org/about-cri/cri-signature-programs/service-providers.cfm

BENEFITS TO OUR CLIENTS:

ü        Cleaning Solutions and Equipment are not created equal, in fact, many cleaning solutions don’t work better than water alone.

ü        Seal of Approval guarantees we are using cleaning solutions and equipment that have been independently tested using x-ray fluorescence (XRF) technology to measure the precise amount of soil removed from the carpet.

ü        The CRI SOA guarantees solutions are safe, effective, and will not leave behind re-soiling residues.

The CRI SOA guarantees that our cleaning method will not void your carpet’s warranty.

We have been selected as the very first Carpet and Rug Institute’s Seal of Approval Service Provider for the state of Idaho.  With this honor, comes added  responsibility to use only cleaning solutions that have been independently tested to be superior performing cleaning solutions.

According to the carpet and rug institutes (CRI) website (www.carpet-rug.org), “CRI worked with an independent laboratory to test off-the-shelf spot removers and pre-spray solutions. Of the 25 products tested, only four cleaned a soiled carpet sample better than water. Some caused the cleaned carpet area to re-soil faster and — worse — some products damaged the carpet’s color and texture.”

For this reason, we have recently introduced Green Balance Pre-spray and Extraction Rinse for a superior clean that is also extremely safe for the environment.  It does not contain solvents or carcinogens of any kind, no added fragrances and is non-toxic.

Does Carpet Protector Really Make A Difference?

You Be The Judge!

The average carpet is replaced every twelve years, even though it begins to show signs of poor care after only three to five years of use. The carpet industry refers to this as “Uglying Out”. (Notice, they do not call it “Wearing Out”). The condition typically affects areas called traffic lanes and in front of the furniture first, causing these are to look dull and soiled.

From the Factory, Fibers are Fresh, New & Protected.

This is what your carpet fibers look like when they’re fresh and new--all squeaky clean and protected straight from the manufacturer. Most nylon carpets dyed at the mill, will contain open dye sites. These open dye sites can allow foreign dyes from spills to permanently dye the carpet fibers. The factory applies protector to keep spills from staining the carpet. Some of the newer carpet protectors also include an acid dye blocker that effectively closes the open dye sites. Carpet protection also makes vacuuming much easier and more effective.

Carpet Fibers Under Attack By Soil, Pollen, and Mites

Without proper maintenance, foot traffic on the carpet causes soil to become ground in and
trapped in the carpet fibers. To the naked eye, soil has a smooth look to it. But under a microscope, soil is revealed to be an abrasive with sharp, jagged edges.

All of this soil acts like tiny saws, cutting into the protector, exposing and damaging the delicate fibers.

Now exposed, spills and soil can penetrate deep into the heart of your carpet. With every step, the sand and soil are scratching and dulling your carpet. It is grinding your expensive yarns down into those worthless fibers that fill up you vacuum bag. Every moment you wait, every day the carpet cleaning is put off, is a compounding day, month, year of lost life of your carpet. The best way to have all those foreign particles effectively removed from your carpets is by the truck-mounted hot water extraction method.

The Solution is Regular Cleaning and to RENEW Your Carpet Protection.

Regular cleanings will remove the scratching and dulling soils leaving more of those expensive
fibers out of your vacuum bag and where they belong, in the carpet. Renewing carpet protection after each cleaning reinforces your carpet’s original factory protectant. It also fills in the porous openings, leaving them smooth and like new. Spills will be easier to remove and vacuuming will
be more effective again. Most importantly, your carpet will look better for much longer than it would with just the original protection alone. That’s why most carpet manufacturers today recommend renewing carpet protection AFTER EACH CLEANING!
